Poll - WrestleMania 26

There hasn't been a poll on the site since Carlito & Primo were the Unified Tag Champions. Yeah, that's quite a long time. Since WrestleMania is upon us again, there's no better time than now to bring the trusty poll back to the site. I would love to hear your input and see what (confirmed) match you're most wanting to see on March 28. The poll ends Monday. Here are my quick thoughts on the matches made so far:

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Edge (World Title)
If you can ever take a positive out of a guy being injured, it's getting a match of this caliber. Ever since Edge went down via injury, last July, this match was about as obvious as obvious can be. How fitting its going to be on the grandest stage of them all. Not sure if it'll get Main billing, I have a feeling Undertaker vs. Michaels II will take that honor, but you'll have a hard time finding a more pure wrestling match in WWE than Jericho vs. Edge.

Batista (c) vs. John Cena (WWE Title)
DaveTista & John Cena renew their rivalry and it's been The Animal getting the last laugh so far, the past few weeks thanks in part to Vince McMahon. I can't say I'm looking forward to this match as much as I am Jericho/Edge, but the storyline has been steadily entertaining. Batista helps Vince out, Vince helps Dave win the WWE Title in a cheap way, now Dave and Vince continue to humiliate Cena, etc. I expect Cena to get a couple momentum swings his way before March 28, we'll see. One things for certain though, I'm interested in what entrance Cena does this year.

The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
"The Streak vs. Career" match. Michaels came close last year at beating The Dead Man. He'll try again, if he loses, he's out of WWE. At first, I groaned at the thought of a rematch between the two at WrestleMania, but after seeing all the well done videopackages by WWE and knowing they'll throw everything (including the kitchen sink) at trying to top last year's match, I'm now very excited. I'm one who believes Taker's streak should NEVER be broken and if WWE actually has Michaels win on March 28, it'll undoubtedly be one of the most surprising things I've ever seen being a wrestling fan. With that said, this is MY vote for what match I'm looking forward to most at the pay-per-view. It barely passes by Jericho/Edge.

Triple H vs. Sheamus
Very weird to see Triple H not in a title match. He pretty much is in the mix every year come this time. This year, however, he's facing The Celtic Warrior. Life is not bad when you're at your first WrestleMania and facing a guy of Triple H's caliber. I think this match could be a dark horse on the card, but I'm not expecting it to be a match people are talking about come the morning of March 29. They'll most likely be talking about Taker/Shawn of course and how Taker does a moonsault over the top rope, and then...just kidding. Anyways, moving on...

Bret Hart vs. Mr. McMahon
If you would have told me a year ago that Bret Hart would EVEN be in another WrestleMania, I would have called you a crazy person. Funny how the wrestling world works. I expect Bret to finally get his revenge on Vince here. I'd be pretty surprised if Vince won, but who knows. Like I said, who expected Bret to be wrestling at another WrestleMania? The Saints also won the Super Bowl this year. The world is spinning out of control.

ShoMiz(c) vs. John Morrison & R-Truth (Unified Tag Titles)
Yawn. I love all 4 guys here, but this match doesn't belong on a WrestleMania card. I thought last year's Unified Tag Match did (can't believe it got snubbed), but not this one. Are we suppose to take Morrison & Truth as a team seriously? I'm hoping Show & Miz take this match and I'm also hoping WWE does something with the tag division after the Draft because they haven't had much of one the past couple of years. Heck, pair Primo & Carlito up again and give them decent spot light time again. Besides Carlito's NXT work, the Brothers have gone way down hill since last July when they lost the belts to Jericho & Edge.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Always a bright spot on the WrestleMania card, Money in the Bank! This year's lineup is looking rather lackluster however and...large? I accidentally read a spoiler on another site and I'm not quite sure what WWE is doing. Anyways, just give me Evan Bourne doing the Shooting Star off a ladder and I'll be a happy camper. Hear that WWE?

WWE NXT Review - 3/9/10

Show Card:
Season 1, Episode 3
R-Truth & David Otunga vs. The Miz & Daniel Bryan
Heath Slater (w/Christian) vs. Carlito (w/Michael Tarver)
Justin Gabriel (w/Matt Hardy) vs. Wade Barrett (w/Chris Jericho)

R-Truth & David Otunga vs. The Miz & Daniel Bryan
Opening the show with a little tag action between two teams who have had their own disputes as of late. Decent tag match as Otunga actually scored the victory over Miz. So Otunga becomes the second rookie to pin a pro. Of course, it has to be noted that Miz & Bryan continued to have their disagreements which led to their loss here. Both men continued to argue after the match. Yeah, I don't see these two ever making up in the course of the season. That wouldn't be very fun, would it?

I can't help but laugh at a Heath Slater/Carlito "dramatic" videopackage highlighting last week's "Carlito spitting his apple in Slater's face" incident.

Good backstage segment between Miz & Bryan. Bryan told Miz if it weren't for his other tag partners, he would never have any tag gold. Ouch. Miz instantly argued back, but Bryan ended the segment by telling Miz "if you're so talented, then you wouldn't have just lost out there." Okay, this might be my favorite backstage segment of the first 3 episodes. Outstanding exchange.

Heath Slater (w/Christian) vs. Carlito (w/Michael Tarver)
Carlito shined light on his "apple spatting" and told Slater if he was wise, he'd have him do it again. Carlito hasn't lost any of his cockiness even with him being on the jobber shelf the last year. Michael Cole continued to play the A-hole role, by agreeing with Carlito. Decent match as Tarver played the cheerleader role nicely on the outside, but it wasn't enough as Slater sneaked out a victory becoming the third rookie (second of the night) to score a win over a pro.

I wasn't sure if we were ever getting a Darren Young spotlight package. Speaking of Darren Young, CM Punk has a little hope for him, but if he doesn't accept Straight Edge into his life, he can only go so far. I'm a little confused, I guess Young isn't Straight Edge if Punk is bringing it up? Interesting?

I like Audioslave's "Be Yourself", but it fits WrestleMania as much as "Snow (Hey Oh)" by Red Hot Chili Peppers did for WrestleMania 24. Zilch.

WWE is must-see TV next Monday. Stone Cold is guest hosting, plus we have 3 past WrestleMania matches along with the Vince/Brett signing. Count me in.

Justin Gabriel (w/Matt Hardy) vs. Wade Barrett (w/Jericho)
Main Event time! Michael Cole informed us that after a 2-year absence, Jericho's Highlight Reel will return this week on Smackdown. Wow, awesome. Anyways, this was a short contest which saw Gabriel score the win after hitting his 450 out of nowhere. So Gabriel, who basically just got limited screen time in Week 1, has been victorious in the Main Event the past 2 weeks. Hopefully he becomes a guy that isn't known just for his 450, but as one of the top rookies out of the bunch.

Final Thoughts:
Entertaining hour of television and probably my favorite of the 3 episodes, thus far. My top 2 moments had to be Bryan's character development and Slater's performance. I wasn't too impressed with the ginger, but he had a decent showing against Carlito and I really like the pairing of him and Christian. All in all, this was a good episode of NXT. One thing I would love to see though, would be some sort of point system in place for the Rookies. Like if they defeat a fellow Rookie, they would get 1 point and if they defeat a Pro, grant them 2 points, etc. Just a little thought.
